W artykule przedstawiono definicje innowacji i innowacyjności oraz opisano stan innowacyjności małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw w Polsce. Zaprezentowano politykę rządu oraz Unii Europejskiej wobec wspierania innowacyjności oraz przykłady podejmowanych przez polski rząd działań, mających na celu podniesienie poziomu innowacyjności przedsiębiorstw.

Summary
The article presents definitions of innovation and innovative activity, and describes the state of innovation in small and medium size enterprises in Poland. The study also presents the Polish government’s and European Union’s policy of innovation supporting, and the examples of actions taken by Polish government which aim is to increase the level of enterprise innovativeness.
