Summary
Every business activity is connected with risk and consequently, with the possibility of crisis occurrence. Economic downturn of recent years has had a various influence on enterprises. Zakłady Chemiczne „Police” SA has taken massive consequences of it. The company might have declared bankruptcy or regained credibility and become a profitable enterprise. The Board of Directors chose the latter direction and changed the company into a developing transactor prepared to function at a time of economic prosperity as well as at a time of economic downturn and crisis. Enterprises are able to prepare for another downturn by carrying out crucial restructuring activities during prosperity period. Thus, during crisis they would be able to function with optimaldegree of fixed charges.
