THE ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTIVITY OF THE BIGGEST POLISH FIRMS
Summary
The main aim of the paper was the statistical analysis of the changes in productivity of the biggest Polish fi rms in 2004–2007. The parameters characterizing the structure of the samples in consecutives years were calculated. There were also estimated the distributions of productivity in 6 main sectors of economy. The sectors differed signifi cantly according to the level of productivity. In all analyzed sectors the strong positive skewness was visible. It turned out that high employment was related to low productivity. The fi rms from the sector Market services had the highest productivity.
